I am finally getting around to posting some pictures from our week in Iowa last week.  There was a lot to do when we got back! :)

Last Tuesday, we took off from De Pere en route to Clear Lake, IA.  On the way, we stopped in Stoughton, WI to visit our good friends, Josh and Sonja and their girls Morgan and Emma. We had a great visit there, and Julia especially had fun playing.  We then headed to our old first-year-of-marriage town, Decorah, where we stopped at Luther to see if it was still there. :)  Then we went to see more good friends, Andrew and Lindsey, and their son Ezra.  We had a meal straight from the garden that was DELICIOUS! Then we got to have dessert at the Whippy Dip.  That was a treat.   We pulled into Clear Lake around 10:00 p.m. ready for some sleep.

The next day, we got to have lots of fun with Grandma and Grandpa.  We played outside, went to the Library, got a tour of Great-Grandma Jeannette and Great-Grandpa Murley's new home, and had lots of fun.  That evening we got to see yet another set of good friends, Jayme and Trisha, and their two kids Micah and Taylor.  :) We then waited up for Kirk, Josie, Mark, Daniel, and Erik who drove straight through from Potsdam, NY in one LONG day.  It was so fun to have them arrive!

After that, our activities centered around the kids and their playing.  We went to the Clear Lake beach, the carnival in town, the 4th of July parade and fireworks, and had lots of great food and fun hanging out.  It is always fun to see Julia get to play with her cousins, and Lauren was doing her best to try to be included too.  I think she's going to crawling before the end of the month.  Yikes.

We headed back home on the 5th.  The trip home was definitely not as fun as the trip there, but that's life.   Lauren was used to being held and talked to constantly, so she cried a lot of the way home.  She wasn't hungry (we figured this out after stopping a few times to see if that was the problem), she just wanted to play.  :)

on the way to see Grandma and Grandpa!

While we were gone, the house really moved along!  They drywalled the whole thing while we were gone!  They pained and tiled this week, and tomorrow we will see our cabinets!!  I'll take pictures tonight and try to get them up soon.  :)
