Hello everyone. Sometimes I wonder if anyone ever reads this thing but I know there are a few of you who check in now and then. :) We have had a busy month or so here, and our camera has been on the fritz, so I have been woefully bad at posting--sorry! Hopefully we can get back on track. We have a "new" camera (thanks Anne!), so hopefully that will provide some inspiration.
Since our last post, we have been keeping busy with school. Julia is having a GREAT time at school--she just loves it. On the morning of our first day of "MEA" break, she actually started crying because she missed school. :) She is learning so much. We had her parent-teacher conferences about 2 weeks ago and her teacher had so many good things to say. The best things to hear were that Julia has a constant positive attitude, she is a good helper, and she is a fearless writer. She is exhausted at night, so I know she is working hard!
Lauren is trying hard to keep up with Julia! She will turn 3 this week, but sometimes it seems like she's been 3 for awhile. She talks all the time and is really funny. She gives the best hugs and is quite the loyal sister. She recently has started singing all the time just like her sister, Julia. Lauren is also turning into quite the nice big sister to Anna. I think they are going to be inseparable very soon...
Anna has come so far in the last 2 months! She is now a fairly competent walker! She decided that actually swallowing food with texture is okay, and she is slowly getting the hang of a sippy cup. We often hear her say "hi!" as well as da! and ma-ma-ma-ma-ma. I'm sure there are other things she is saying, but they have yet to be decoded. :) She has decided that she needs to be right in the middle of whatever her sisters are doing, even if it it wrestling. She has also entered into the "I can't stand staying in this pew any longer" stage of church-going...someday we will actually learn something at church, right? :)
David had quite a busy October and November with some symphony performances, judging gigs, and other recitals. He likes to stay active, but sometimes it is exhausting! We are glad that the holiday season is here--its a little lighter on the performances and a little heavier on dad time. :) He does a great job with his playing, though, and it is fun to hear him whenever we can.
I had to have surgery on a blocked tear duct this past week. It was my first time being put under general anesthesia, and I was pretty nervous I wasn't going to wake up. :) Where in the world did I get these nerves from, Mom? :) Things went pretty well. I had to rest for a few days, which (is this horrible?) was actually kind of a nice little break. I read 2 books! :) I get my stitches out tomorrow, and get back to "normal" on Tuesday. Mom came to help out and it was sooooo nice to have her here. David was a very big help too. I was able to really relax, which was wonderful.
Below are some out-of-order pictures from some fun things we've done in the past 2 months or so--visiting a friend's family pumpkin patch, having Halloween fun, hosting John and Jana and having Anna's 1st Birthday! We'll post more soon now that we have a decent working camera.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!! We have so much to be thankful for. Wow. :)

Julia got this birdhouse from Uncle Chris and (almost) Aunt Kim.
She put it together with very little help, and painted it herself!
It is currently hanging outside and hosting many birds. |

Little Miss Anna--she stayed home with Mom and watched the trick-or-treaters from the window.
Maybe next year when she can actually chew we'll take her along. :) |

How did Tim beat me to the comments? I must be snoozing. I am also a faithful reader.
