Well, here we are nearly 3 months after my last post! I knew the school year would bring busy times, so I will try to catch up with a barrage of pictures!! Here we go!
De Pere built a new park area this summer that goes over the river and gives you a close-up view of the local lock. Here are the girls taking a good look at the water on a windy day! :) |
Anna loved watermelon this summer!! Isn't she funny? |
We took the girls downtown to the annual ArtStreet fair. It was great fun--here we are eating ice cream and listening to some great music! It was almost 90 degrees this day!! |
Anna is loving the music too. |
Check out Lauren's ice cream face! |
Here are Julia and Lauren on their way to some fun time at the Learning Lab! |
Julia's first day of 1st grade!! Wow!! |
She looks so grown-up! |
This is what happens when Julia is in charge of play time. Everyone gets dressed up--even Anna! |
Julia found a poor, gimpy grasshopper to be her friend. She didn't realize he couldn't hop away, and was convinced he was just staying with her because he loved her. It was sweet. She named him Alex. |
The got pretty attached... |
A rare family photo! |
Julia and Lauren got to go to the National Railroad Museum for a friend's birthday party. Here they are on the outdoor car going for a train ride! |
I got to go too!! (That's the birthday boy in the background!) |
We grew some sunflowers this year in our little garden. Julia grabbed the camera and took these pictures of them. It think they are pretty good! |
This year I have Thursdays off from school, so I got to go with Lauren on her first field trip to a local apple orchard. Here is our little group after finding some good apples to pick! |
Yum! :) |
Julia turned 7! We opened presents in the presence of Grandma Mary via Skype! :) |
Julia invited two friends to a fun place called "Sir-Bounce-a-Lots" for her birthday party. They had so much fun! |
Waiting for pizza! |
Grandma and Grandpa Severtson and Uncle Andrew, Aunt Tammy, and Will came for a weekend to hang out. We went back to the apple orchard and had some fun time playing and picking out pumpkins this time! |
We adopted a cat!! His name is Neuman. He is quite the character. The girls still fight over him because they all want to play with him!! He is a trooper. |
Grandma Mary brought us a caramel apple kit so we made some a few weekend ago! It was so fun! |
We decided not to give Anna the caramel version--she had a good time eating this plain apple like a bit girl! |
Julia and Neuman. Believe it or not, he really likes to be carried around like a baby! :) |
We had a two days off from school the last week in October, so I took the girls to the brand new children's museum in Green Bay. It was soooooo nice!! We will definitely go back. Here the girls are up in a fake lighthouse! |
Water play |
In a boat with the aforementioned lighthouse in the background. |
Julia making change in the shoe store. She loved it! |
Anna is driving a fire truck! |
Captain Lauren is here to put out all of your fires! :) |
We also took some time on those days off to make some mini-apple pies. It was so fun! |
(This is a store-bought crust--we just needed to make it bigger. :) |
You put the crust in a muffin pan and fill it with apples! The girls were having a lot of fun! |
The finished product. Time to eat! |
Halloween--school attire. (plus poor Neuman) |
And now the costumes!! I love this picture. We will look back at this someday and it will be one of our favorites I think! |
I tried to get them to sit together... :) |
Trick-or-treating! |
So, there you have a crazy picture update of our past few months. Time has gone by so fast! Anna is turning 2 next week. How did that happen? She is really talking a lot and has grown a lot too. Lauren's birthday is also coming up--she'll be 4. We sure have a lot to be thankful for!!
Because I have kind of stunk at keeping a baby book, I often think that someday the girls will look at this blog to learn and see what they were up to as kids. So, girls, tomorrow is a big day!! Election day!! You know who we want to win, and we are hoping for a good day. Regardless, though, just remember that when you are able, it is important to go vote!! No matter what!! Okay, I will step away now. :)
Thanks for checking in everyone. I'll try to get some birthday pictures up here before February. :) ha! :)
Love,
Mandy
