I can't believe that it is already July!  We have had a good couple of weeks since I last posted.  We had a great Father's Day at a new place for us--Point Beach State Park.  It was BEAUTIFUL, and of course, the moment I took out the camera, the battery died.  :(  We'll have to go back sometime soon and take more pictures!

It has been so hot here this summer.  We have had a lot of fun playing in the backyard with out little pool and, of course, the good old-fashioned hose. :)  Julia asks almost every day for her dad to spray her with the hose. :)

Anna is quite a fish.  She is a fearless little explorer!

I love this.  They pretend they are relaxing and lay on the edge of the pool.  Even Anna likes to join in. :)

What is it about Lauren--she always takes the best pictures!

Some action shots of David with the hose.  He is quite good at making these guys scream and giggle!  :)

This is a little invention that the girls came up with.  They hook the stroller wheels to the trike, and then pull one another.  I think it was quite a creative idea!

Anna always wants to be right in the middle of things...even after bathtime. :)

Somehow I got suckered into buying powdered doughnuts at the grocery store... :)

In the middle of all this fun, David and I decided to landscape the back yard.  I didn't take any pictures! It was a fun job, but a lot of work.  The girls were so good to play with each other while we were digging and planting!  It took almost 3 full days.  :)    We had a lot of dirt left, so we made 2 container garden beds--one 4x4 and one 8x4.  We managed to find some sickly looking tomato plants and some pepper plants, and then just for fun we planted some peas, beans, and lots of herbs from seed.  I'm not sure if the seeds will actually work, but it was fun to try.  At least we'll be ready for next year now!  I'll try to get some pictures of the garden to post soon.  The girls really like to help water the garden!

More pool fun!

We went to the local ice cream shop--Zesty's -- for a treat on Saturday evening.  Lauren and Julia got kid cones.  Here is  Lauren as she's just starting....stay tuned. :)

How do you even get ice cream on your forehead like that? :)  She loved it.
On Sunday, we decided to take a day trip up to Door County--one of our favorite things to do!  It was about 10 degrees cooler by the lake, so that was a bonus.  We left right after church, so we were there  by 10:15 or so!  First we went to one of our favorite place, The Farm.  This place never gets old!  Anna was especially fun to watch this time--she just loved all of the animals.  She was not afraid to touch any of them!  Lauren, on the other hand, still needs  little coaxing. :)  Julia just jumps right in and grabs or pets whatever she can!

This is what happens if you take your eye off Anna for 10 seconds.  She is such a climber!

We had a picnic at The Farm, and then headed to our favorite beach at Whitefish Dunes State Park.  Again, we had so much fun.  The water was warm and really shallow for a long way out, so the girls swam and swam.  Even Lauren braved up and swam around!  :)  Anna and Julia would live in the water if they could!

After all the swimming, we walked around on the rocks near the beach and had a little snack of some delicious plums before the drive home.  Although it is often hard to live far away from our families, we are so thankful that we live so close to Door County!!  We love going up there. :)

Look at how much she loved this plum!  :)

We found a tiny "bridge" to cross. :)

I love how Lauren has her hand on Julia--they are such good buddies. :)

Hard to get everyone to look at the camera, but its cute anyway!  :)

The girls all fell asleep on the way home--Anna before we left the parking lot. :)  It was a great day!  We are going to try to do something fun for the 4th tomorrow...we'll see what we come up with. :)

Thanks for checking in everyone!!
